Non-ferrous metals are indefinitely recyclable without loss of quality. Metallo’s technologies are mainly based on cost and energy efficient pyrometallurgical processes. Over 350,000 tonnes of raw materials are annually fed to the processes to be recovered into marketable metals
Ongoing developments
The entire smelting and refining process is based on unique in-house technologies all based on the Best Available Technologies principle to sustain our ongoing developments.
Smelting
One smelter is located in the north of Belgium and directly connected to the further steps in the refining process. A second stand-alone smelter is located in the north of Spain, ELMET S.L.U. and produces black copper in granulated form, which is entirely refined in the Belgian plant.
